Inspirational Quote!

Green Star Bee with a Pink Flower

"Happiness consists more in small conveniences or pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life."

Thursday Tidbits....

Two Happy Flowers

"Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself."

Weekend Inspiration!

Pot of Flowers

God's Bouquet

Sister Miriam Barker

You must bloom where you are planted
In the garden we call life,
And bring some special beauty to
Each corner where there's strife.

Perhaps you're a dandelion,
Wishing you were a rose,
Yet in this place of growing things,
You're the one God chose.

It's up to you to finish what
The good Lord has begun,
By growing just the way you should
And face the rising sun.

There's room for you, if you choose,
In a glorious array,
Of beauty from God's garden,
That He'll add to His bouquet.

I Shall Not Pass This Way Again

Author Unknown

Through this toilsome world, alas!
Once and only once I pass;
If a kindness I may show,
If a good deed I may do
To a suffering fellow man,
Let me do it while I can.
No delay, for it is plain
I shall not pass this way again.

A Little Inspiration!

Beautiful Angel

My Name Is I Am

Helen Mallicoat

I was regretting the past and fearing the future.
Suddenly my Lord was speaking:
"My name is I AM"
He paused. I waited. He continued,
"When you live in the past with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I WAS.
When you live in the future, with its problems and fears,
it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I WILL BE.
When you live in this moment it is not hard.
I am here. My name is I AM."

Thursday's Video....

Today's video is based on the poem entitled,
"Don't Quit."

I hope you enjoy watching this inspirational video!

Don't Quit
Author Unknown

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Wednesday's V.I.P.

Tony Robbins

I have been reading Tony Robbins' books and listening to his motivational speeches for many years now. His larger-than-life personality really makes you believe that you can do anything you put your mind to. He was one of the first successful motivational speakers in America and he is still going strong today. He has built his life around helping people overcome their fears and reach their potential. Here's a peek at some of his inspirational ideas....

"For changes to be of any true value, they've got to be lasting and consistent."

"How am I going to live today in order to create the tomorrow I'm committed to?"

"I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk."

"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten."

"It's not knowing what to do, it's doing what you know."

"Live with passion!"

Tuesday Tidbits.....

Irish Mouse Clip Art

In honor of St. Patty's Day (which is coming up on Saturday),
I wanted to share a few of my favorite Irish blessings with you. Enjoy!

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine upon your face;
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

An Old Irish Blessing

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all of life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

An Irish Blessing

As you slide down the bannister of life,
may the splinters never point the wrong way.

Another Irish Blessing

Wishing you a rainbow
for sunlight after showers--
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
for golden happy hours--
Shamrocks at your doorway
for luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through.

An Irish Prayer

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Weekend Inspiration...

Baby Face

The Importance of a Smile
(Based on the writings of Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch)

"A smile costs nothing, but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so poor but that he can not be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give."

I just love, love this piece of inspiration! Good stuff!

Wednesday's V.I.P.

Blue Bird

If I Had My Life to Live Over
Erma Bombeck

If I had my life to live over, I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television - and more while watching life.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."

There would have been more "I love yous"... More "I'm sorrys" ...

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it ... live it...and never give it back.

I have read this dozens of times and I love it more and more each time that I read it. I love how Erma reminds us to appreciate all of the "small stuff" in life because that's really what matters at the end of the day.

Erma Bombeck

Erma Bombeck was a wonderful humorist and she had a knack for perfectly capturing everyday situations in a funny and honest way. She wrote fifteen books in her lifetime and most of them landed on the bestseller list. Check out some of her great books...

Tuesday Tidbits.....

Today's tidbit comes from one of the most A-MAZ-ING women ever to grace the world with her presence: Mother Teresa. Everyone knows what truly wonderful things Mother Teresa did for the poor, sick and dying in Calcutta, India and around the world. She lived in the trenches every day and cared for hundreds and thousands of people throughout her long life. During her humble existence, she taught us many things. Here are a few words of Mother Teresa's wisdom...

People are often unreasonable and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are honest, people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.

If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It never was between you and them anyway.

I just LOVE it! These are awesome words to live by! Have a great day!

Smiling Is Infectious
Author Unknown

Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him.

I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

Thursday Tips....

Blue Bird Holding a White Flower

Just for Today

Author Unknown

Just for today--
I will live through the next 12 hours,
And try not to tackle all of life's problems at once.

Just for today--
I will improve my mind.
I will learn something useful.
I will read something that requires thought and concentration.

Just for today--
I will be agreeable.
I will look my best and speak in a well-modulated voice.
I will be courteous and considerate.

Just for today--
I will not find fault with friend, relative, or colleague.
I will not try to change or improve anyone but myself.

Just for today--
I will do a good turn and keep it a secret.
If anyone finds out, it won't count.

Just for today--
I will have a program.
I might not follow it exactly, but I will have it.
I will save myself from two enemies: hurry and indecision.

Just for today--
I will do two things I don't want to do,
Just because I need the discipline.

Just for today--
I will believe in myself. I will give my best to the world,
And feel confident that the world will give its best to me.
